Funny story. I HAVE seen this movie when i was young, but due to some bizarre TV re-scheduling. I was staying up to see a Woody Alan movie and this was on. YIKES! I thought the humour was going over my head, and now i know why!

Finally! A movie I HAVE seen! Actually, it comes up quite often on TCM Romania.

Do miniseries count in your 18 movies list? Because I take issue with the "only GOOD movie" bit about Dean Koontz. "Intensity" had kind of a lame last minute or two, but everything involving Vess was more than good enough to carry the whole thing.

Awesome review! I thought I was the only one who'd heard of the movie "Demon Seed." It reminded me a lot of another "AI runs amok" movie "Colossus: The Forbin Project," which I'm sure had to be a strong influence on the story. (Oh, and if you're ever going to review another "computer goes kill crazy" film, I'd highly recommend the 1950's-era movie "Gog". Although it's actually enemy agents controlling a murderous computer instead of an evil AI, it's still years ahead of its time in portraying the "human beings at the hapless mercy of technology" thing, plus it has a lot of surprisingly gruesome deaths for a film of its era.)

At first glance this made me think the movie was a prequel to my movie Demon Gourd. I also had a "So THAT'S what that Simpsons episode is based on!" moment, although Hal 9000 inspired that episode as much as it did the movie in question.
