TGO: "Why Do You Love Video Games?"

Quick head's-up for those who don't always follow The Other Blog, but the NEW "Game OverThinker" is out (for ALL audiences) and I have to say I'm especially proud of this one and the overwhelmingly positive reaction it's been getting so far - especially considering this started out as a "replacement episode" to make sure I kept on schedule despite my brief illness throwing a wrench into production:

I almost lost it when you mentioned Jade. She was the first female protagonist I ever played in a video-game. As such, Jade and Beyond Good & Evil have a special place in my video game heart. It took me years to beat it just because the stealth was THAT intense for me as a kid. I'm glad I did though, because I got to learn more about Jade and the people of Hillys. In fact...

Because Jade from Beyond Good & Evil provided the thought-kernel that made me consider being a journalist.

(Also, I literally laughed out loud when you got to No More Heroes. Great list!)

Why do internet video critics invariably suck at storytelling? I mean, seriously... Game Overthinker and all of That Guy with the Glasses seems to go by some kind of hipster meta-irony in employing all the same bullshit tropes and violations of good narrative structure they rail against in the same videos. That's the only explanation that makes the slightest bit of sense.

Bob looks like he's lost a little weight. Not making any qualitative statements about that. Just saying.

The video player doesn't load properly for me. I can't pause it to let it load-and when I try to play it normally, it just stops and starts constantly. Anyone else having these issues?
