Someday, someone is going to write an AMAZING book about just how hillariously, disasterously stupid the "pop-culture tie-ins" side of the Reagan/Bush era "War on Drugs" push was.
For now, here's the finale of "The Flintstone Kids: Just Say No!;" with Michael JackSTONE belting out a re-worded anti-drug cover of "Beat-It" for toddler-versions of Fred Flintstone and friends - yes, complete with animated crotch-grab at 0:58. You're welcome.

MJ's songs seem to be so good that even parodies and shitty PSA's are still listenable.
I'm not certain but I feel as though the king of spam and trolls is trying to say something.
This is pretty much why people like Bud Green existed...

It's like the Da Vinchi Code. Every third troll has a secret message in it. Luckily I cracked the code. It says "I'm bored."
... get a life bro...
He rules over all the canned meat in the world in a kingdom under a bridge!
It's a little (okay, a lot) off-topic, but here's Penn Jillette delivering an EPIC rant against the oppressive war on drugs.

I actually owned the VHS of that back when I was five or six. I remember hearing "Beat It" years later, maybe seeing the music video on television, and being confused about why all the "say no" lyrics were removed.
I think it's kind of impressive that, as bizarre as it is, it STILL does not match the oddity of Simon the Chipmunk talking about Marijuana, or Baby Kermit the Frog and Baby Miss Piggy taking a would-be druggie on a nightmarish roller-coaster showing the effects of Drugs on the brain. In terms of sheer bizarro-ness/kind-of-really-stupid, "Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue" remains King of the dumb-shit 80's anti-drug PSA's in my opinion.
Well there's something I'm going to have to re-repress.
Actually that isn't a bad idea Bob, except it needs the video. Maybe there's a massive theme month for various parties at That Guy With the Glasses to be done.
Has Bob ever done a big picture on the 'war on drugs/just say no/winners don't do drugs' cartoon and videogame oddities of the 80s and 90s? That'd be one hell of a trip.
you really need a new banner. uglyuglyugly
